Bucholz McEvoy has designed a five-storey private Hospital at the northeast of the site on Merrion Road, sharing a serpentine building form with a 4 star hotel.
Pedestrian routes for people travelling by public transport traverse a landscaped forecourt to bring people to the main entrance, which also has a vehicular drop-off point.
The reception areas, public café, hospital shop, etc, are all located at the entrance level overlooking a landscaped garden beside Merrion Road.
An accident & emergency facility is located at ground level and is accessed from the main reception area. Ambulance pull-up is to the sorth of the building, specialist consultancy/ minor surgery suites are located at the first and second floor levels of the entrance wing and the imaging and x-ray suite is at third floor level. The intervention suite is located at the fourth floor level of this wing.
Pre-operation and recovery rooms can be found in the central portion of the building at third and fourth floor levels with views of the sea. Service and plant areas are located at lower ground level.
