Elm Park Green Urban Quarter is a transformative mixed-use urban development comprising 100,000 m² situated on 8 hectares in Dublin. This new type of urban development represents a dense, environmentally renewing city—a unified, functionally diverse environment composed of buildings, landscape, place, and energy. The project demonstrates a holistic approach to contemporary urban design where landscape facilitates movement, creates connections between activities and people, and provides spaces for people to live, work, and have leisure time.
Design Philosophy & Urban Strategy
This project embodies a new paradigm in urban development—a dense, environmentally renewing city that prioritises both functionality and sustainability. The unified design creates a continuous flow of life, with a rich mix of uses ensuring a vibrant 24-hour ebb and flow of activity on the site.
Built Form & Orientation
Buildings are strategically oriented along the north-south axis to maximise the use of passive energy systems and create clear east and west elevations. This orientation provides maximum constant daylight in the morning and afternoon while opening the site to spectacular views of the Dublin Mountains and the Irish Sea—the natural landscape that defines Dublin. All buildings feature compact footprints, minimising their impact on the ground plane while maintaining connections with the surrounding seaside and mountain lands
The development includes:
Public Park (7-acre landscaped garden with restaurants, cafés, and performance spaces), Four Office Buildings (50,000 m²), Leisure Centre, Conference Centre, Day Care Centre, Two Apartment Buildings (322 apartments), Senior Citizen Housing (100 units for Dublin City Council), Restaurants, cafés, retail, and outdoor performance venues
Area: 100,000 m2
